Purse Breakdown for 2012
NEW CHANGES TO TOURNAMENT PAYOUTS FOR 2012
The Peach State Professional Golf Tour announces new changes to the payout policy. In an effort to make our tour the best developmental tour for professionals, we will be increasing the number of players who make the cut (field will be cut to the low 50%, up from 33%). The purse payout will also be increased with the top 40% recieving a full check (minimum paycheck of $600) and the remaining 10% (and ties if applicable) earning $100. The deeper cut and payout for this year represents a dramatic change to the payout policy of the PSPGT. The overall tournament purse will still reflect the size of the field and will be larger with bigger fields. The tour will add a minimum of $3300 of sponsor money to each event. A daily low round bonus of $100 will be paid for each tournament round during the 2012 season. Here is a recap of the changes to the payout for 2012.
- All tournaments will feature a cut after the second round. The cut will be to the low 50% and ties.
- All players making the cut will recieve a check. The payout will be distributed evenly through out the top 40% with the remaining 10% receiving a check of $100. This payout assures that those who make the cut will make, at minimum, enough to cover the expenses of another day of lodging and expenses. The bottom 10% of the field will have a chance in the final round to play their way into a larger payday. Our purse examples show the breakdown for 60 players and 80 players. If our tour reaches full field size, the payout would be increased accordingly to the same scale.
- Low Round Bounus of $100 will be paid in every tournament round on the PSPGT in 2012.
- If a tournament cut results in more than 50% making the cut, all players under the 40% cut off will recieve $100. There will be no split of the bottom tier money ( For example, if ties result in 32 players making the cut in a field of 60, all player finishing lower than 24th place will recieve $100)
Please see the following purse breakdown examples to see how the purses will be split in the 2012 season.
